ARTISTS OF THE MONTH

RUBY
ARTIST OF OCTOBER

DIANE LIGUORI
"Hello Dahlia"
Oil on canvas (30 x 30 inches) $4250.00
diane@dliguoriartandstory.com

"A transformative journey into the ineffable exuberance of pink; a larger-than-life look at the mystery of origins and an opportunity to marvel at the evolution of beauty from within, Hello Dahlia is an unabashed introduction to the exquisite vulnerability and idiosyncrasies of a dahlia at the crux of her personal metamorphosis. She is compelled into transition, with no choice but to go forward into the change and uncertainty before her. Her breathtaking response is to open wider, and stand as she is—with flaws, differences and fragility magnificently showing as courage lit from within—and beyond. She is simultaneously an inspiration and a reassurance, a reminder that each of us has a unique journey to pursue, a captivating story to tell and a rightful place in the world." -- DIANE LIGUORI

SAPPHIRE
ARTIST OF OCTOBER

GAYLE PRINTZ
"Jazz"
Acrylic on canvas (12 x 12 inches)
Price on request
Sales@GaylePrintz.com

"My goal is to provide viewers the freedom to find emotional meaning in the intangible by evoking the unconscious use of their imaginations.  Using color, flow, three-dimensionality and distinct brushwork, I try to create paintings that transcend the familiar. I always hope to draw viewers into the painting and invite them to assign personal meaning and universal context by listening to the whispers of their imagination. Look closely and you may even notice a magical quality; my paintings have been known to somehow change completely depending upon the angle at which you gaze. As it is with life, the meaning in my work depends upon the way you look at it." -- GAYLE PRINTZ

EMERALD
ARTIST OF OCTOBER

NANCY PATEL
"Warli Painting"
(12 x 16 inches)
Price on request
nancygpatel@yahoo.co.in

"The Warli is an ancient tribe originating from Maharastra, India.  The Warli painting style is still practiced today
and uses a set of basic geometric shapes such as circles and triangles to represent humans and other objects.
The central motif is village scenes such as cooking, worship, farming, kids playing, basket weaving, planting
and other daily activities. Festivals and dances are commonly portrayed and feature the tarpa, a trumpet-like instrument which is played in turn by different village men.  The villagers entwine their hands and dance in a circle around the musician while never turning their backs to the tarpa. The circle formation of the dancers is also said to resemble the circle of life." -- NANCY PATEL

CRYSTAL
ARTIST OF OCTOBER

VERA ARELLANO
"Cotton Candy"
Acrylic (20 x 16 inches) $90.00
welah@comcast.net

"My art can be described as sensual, free, ethnic and expressive.  I am most inspired to paint women who are sassy, tough and vulnerable yet who also exude their own sex appeal.  I paint pretty minds as well as pretty faces, often with mysterious eyes which reveal the truth.  Most pieces don my signature forehead mole so there is  a bit of me in every painting." -- VERA ARELLANO
