BEATE BLUME
"Just Curious"
Acrylic on canvas (32 x 32 inches) $1649.00
info@beateblume.de

"I typically use brilliant, vigorous colours and strong contrasts in my paintings. Clear, geometric and organic shapes plus repetitive elements give a unique rhythm to my paintings, which unifies and separates foreground and background at the same time. I use simplified and well-defined forms. The contours of the subject remain mostly naturalistic. I use extensive forms to increase the impact of the high-purity colours, which make the paintings appear to be flooded with light and emanate a joy of life and power.  Strong contrasts create tension and energy and it is a challenge for me to create a sense of unity and even harmony in my paintings so that they reflect the beauty and positive energy of the subjects that fascinate me and inspire me to paint." -- BEATE BLUME

ALPANA MITTAL
"Cherry Blossom"
Beads/mixed media on canvas (24 x 20 inches) $1200.00
mittal_alpana@hotmail.com

"In 2008 I bought an art kit for my daughter with thousands of beads and one 6” X 6” pegboard in it. While she was creating small birds and flowers, I started visualizing some patterns on canvas.  Since then I am working with it and the result is very satisfying and thrilling.  Bright colors and the texture created by these beads add beauty to my designs.  My work is inspired by Rangoli art from India, which we make during the festive season, on the floor, with colored powder and remove it after the festival is over."-- ALPANA MITTAL

EMERALD
ARTIST OF SEPTEMBER

ANYA GUDIMOVA
"Disillusionment"
Oil on canvas (80 x 52 inches)
anyagudimova@gmail.com

"I moved from Eastern Russia to Alaska, America when I was very young. The shift in environment as well as culture had a huge impact on me. The following years in my life were full of change so I found comfort in exploring nature as a way to focus on something other than myself. This led me to wonder why I felt at peace surrounded by trees rather than people and why I preferred to be in places where I didn’t feel hyperaware of my body and mind. Being a woman who has gone through so much change, I was aware of my own physical and mental exhaustion. These feelings have taken me on a path to explore the relationship with my body and mind and why I have reached the point of so much confusion and hatred towards myself. My work is now evolving to focus more on investigating this relationship and on examining past traumas and the current politics of womanhood." -- ANYA GUDIMOVA
